Hello everyone, and welcome back to yet another Weekend Review!
Nothing like a good chat about the weather as an icebreaker, right? Anyway, it’s warming up where I live, and it’s been pretty rainy this week like it was last week. That’s fine with me - as we usually have plenty of hot, dry weather in July and August.
I hope you had a good week! Here are some things to (hopefully) make you laugh and think as you head into a new week.
Laugh of the Week
It’s funny because it’s true. You know it is - and so do I.
Article of the Week
Jenn Leach is a fantastic writer on Medium and has a lot of helpful tips for other content creators - especially writers.
She wrote a beneficial article about the tools she finds the most helpful and will continue to pay for as a writer. Her number #1 tool is one I pay for as well and use all the time (for example, to make the main image for this post).

Video of the Week
Recently, I’ve been watching Casey Neistat’s videos on YouTube. I realized why his content had drawn me in - it’s because he’s such a master storyteller, and he has fun telling the story.
For example, the video below is about how he put a door between his studio and a storage space. And yet, he tells the story in such a masterful, fun way you can’t help but watch to the end.
We as writers can learn from learning to tell a story in a fun and unique way. Don’t just install a door - make it a “secret” door, and take us along in the fun you had along the way.
Quote of the Week
“What is the essence of the art of writing? Part One: Have something to say. Part Two: Say it well.” ― Edward Abbey
