Love it! I would add... if you paste a hard link to your Substack home page inside your post, it auto-generates a great CTA. It uses your logo, a subscribe button, and (I think) your one line description. All within the same space as a normal “sub with caption.”
Also, to your point about white space: myself and a few other creators use custom page brakes. Basically a tiny doodle in a 1x5 aspect ratio, with a transparent background. My articles are broken up with little mountain doodles. Readers have messaged me when they recognize them. It’s fun!
